Audi Carbon Fiber Spoiler: Lip, Ducktail, or GT Wing — and Which One Fits

Scroll

Audi owners reach for the word “spoiler” like it means one thing. It doesn’t. Three completely different parts are sold under that name, and the one your car needs is decided by the body, not the badge on the grille. Pick by badge and you’ll end up with a wing that needs holes you never wanted — or a lip that won’t sit on an S-line trunk.

On an Audi, the body style decides the spoiler. The badge and the model year do not.

Why the model name isn’t enough

The same “A4” is a saloon, an Avant, and a Sportback — three different rear ends, three different spoiler fits. An S-line exterior pack already carries its own lip, so a stick-on blade either doubles up or floats. And the RS doesn’t share the base deck. The chassis code — B8, B9, C8 — plus the body — saloon / Avant / Sportback — is the only key that doesn’t lie.

Common questions

How do I know which spoiler fits?

Send the VIN and two photos of the rear — straight on and three-quarter. Body style and the S-line pack decide, not the badge.

Lip or ducktail?

Lip is the stealth daily look that keeps the factory line. Ducktail is the GT / show profile that raises the deck. Pick by the look you want — both are reversible.

Will it need drilling?

Lip and ducktail: no, or only into the existing trim. GT wing: yes — into the trunk or a chassis brace. That's the trade for downforce.

What does the warranty cover?

Twelve months against manufacturing defects — de-lamination and a lifting clear coat. Not track impact or machine polish.
