Keeping them clean is easy: a ceramic or wax coat once a season keeps the clear coat slick. Avoid pressure-washing directly at the seam where the cover meets the housing.

The tooling is made from a scan of the original part, so the cover seats the way the factory part does. Test-fit before you commit the tape — trim level can change the housing even when the shape looks the same.

The outer shell is carbon fiber, then clear coated and buffed flat. The panel stays thin enough to keep the original silhouette.

The pair goes on in an afternoon with the car on the ground, so nothing structural is touched. Degrease the factory cover first and press the covers on from the centre outwards. The tape reaches full strength after about 24 hours.

The default clear coat is matte; for restoration or dealer work we reproduce a factory-matched tint.

Owners usually notice the difference most at a distance, where the Volkswagen Golf 6 Vi MK6 silhouette is what people actually read — these sharpen that line without changing it.
