The tooling comes off the factory BMW 3 Series E90 335I part, so the cover seats the way the factory part does. On this part the cover separates from the mirror assembly, which is what keeps the job simple.

The outer shell is carbon fiber, then clear coated and buffed flat. Any pinholes, resin pooling or weave distortion are rejected before the clear coat goes on.

There is nothing fussy about the upkeep; a wax or ceramic topper once or twice a year is enough. Avoid pressure-washing directly at the seam where the cover meets the housing.
